Remote user testing software that works across time zones

Remote user testing software removes the room. Moderators also removes the appointment. You share one link, each user opens it whenever they like from wherever they are, and an AI moderator runs the session in chat or voice and returns findings with quotes. Time zones stop being a scheduling problem.

What decided it for you in the end?

The other vendor could start the same week.

Who needed it that week?

Finance did, because our launch date moved up.

Quote from the interview

“Setup took two days and nobody had time.”

What makes remote testing slow?

Not the distance. The slow part is lining up a moderator and a participant at the same hour, then repeating it twenty times. Each session needs a slot, a reminder and a reschedule when someone gets busy. An asynchronous session removes all of that, because the participant only needs ten or fifteen quiet minutes.

How does a session run?

The user clicks the link, reads a short intro and starts talking or typing. The moderator asks the first question, listens, then follows up on what was just said. When the guide is covered, the session ends and the transcript is saved. You can have users in several countries finishing sessions in the same night.

Chat or voice?

Chat is easy to start on a phone in a queue. Voice captures longer explanations. Use chat for quick checks on a feature and voice when you want people to think aloud. Both draw on your plan limits, so the amounts are listed below. Read about both modes in the feature overview.

How do you get people to take part?

Send the link where your users already are: a product email, an in-app message, a support follow-up or a customer newsletter. Moderators does not supply testers, so response depends on your own audience and on how clearly you describe the ask. Short, specific invitations perform best.

What about the findings?

Themes with quotes, ranked across the whole study. Because everything is written down, a colleague who joined late can read the evidence rather than ask for a recap. If your question is about moderation style itself, compare with moderated usability testing.

Where does remote testing here stop?

Moderators does not stream or record the participant's screen and does not provide a device lab. It captures what people say about their experience. For observation of exact clicks, pair it with a recorder of your choice and use the interviews to explain what you see.

What do you pay for remote sessions?

Annual billing is the default, 50 percent below monthly. There is no free plan, and used limits do not return within a period.

  • Starter has a price of $99/month, or $49.50/month billed annually, with 100 chat interviews, 120 voice minutes and 1 seat.
  • Team has a price of $249/month, or $124.50/month billed annually, with 400 chat interviews, 300 voice minutes, 5 seats and a custom-branded link.
  • Scale has a price of $599/month, or $299.50/month billed annually, with 1,000 chat interviews, 750 voice minutes, 15 seats, a findings repository and API.
  • Enterprise has a price of $1,499/month, or $749.50/month billed annually, with 2,500 chat interviews, 1,800 voice minutes, SSO, roles, SLA, invoices and data retention controls.

A round of 100 remote chat sessions on Team uses a quarter of the chat limit. Browse the pricing page for details.
